The set released in Japan on July 31, 2026, built around Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's cast. Mega Rayquaza ex is still the card that sells the set
The Stadium mechanic is the novelty, but Mega Rayquaza ex 058/076 is what most players and collectors actually came for. It carries 280 HP, an Ability called Champion's Roar that searches a Basic Energy from the top four cards of the deck the moment it hits the Bench, and an attack fittingly named Storm Emeralda that deals 50 damage for every Fire and Lightning Energy attached across your side of the board.
That attack rewards exactly the kind of deck a card like Legendary Marine Trench could support, one that stacks Energy and races through the damage trade instead of trying to knock out first. Like every Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, a Mega Rayquaza ex knockout hands the opponent three Prize cards instead of two, so the deck still has to respect the usual math around running a single big threat. The pull rates and buyback prices for the card's rarest prints already moved into five figures of yen within days of release, worth its own read if the market side matters more here than the ruleset.
