Splitting a premium set into a Day and Night pair built around Espeon and Umbreon isn't new. It's the same Eeveelution pairing anniversary style sets keep returning to, and doubling the exclusive promos gives a completionist twice as much to chase.

Thirty packs total once you count the Classic Collection pack, which is the same count the rest of the premium tier has been running. What changes between Day and Night is only the art, the box color and the two promo cards.
What's actually inside, spread out
Pokémon's own product photos lay everything out, and it's worth looking at before you spend $180 sight unseen.
The Day playmat is a daytime park scene: Pikachu, Espeon and a crowd of other Pokémon around a fountain. It's genuinely nice art, and unlike the packs, it's the one item in the box you can't buy separately anywhere.
Night swaps the fountain for fireworks and a moodier cast: Mewtwo, Gengar, Absol. If you're choosing between the two on vibes alone, that's the real difference, not the card pool inside the packs, which is identical either way.
The four promo cards, card by card
The promos are the part people actually chase, so here's what each one does.
Both Day promos are illustrated in daylight settings by YOSHIROTTEN, the same artist behind the set's Futuristic Rare cards. Espeon ex's Solar Beatdown is a real attack, not a novelty: a board with five Pokémon in play does 150 damage before Weakness.
Umbreon ex is the bigger card on paper: 270 HP versus Espeon's 260, and Lunatic Claw jumps to 240 damage against a Pokémon that's already taken a hit. Whether that tips your choice toward Night depends on whether you play the deck or just want it in a sleeve.
Is $179.99 actually worth it
Run the packs on their own first. Twenty nine packs at $179.99 works out to roughly $6.21 a pack, before you even count the accessories. The Booster Bundle, which is just packs with nothing else, comes out closer to $4.49 a pack. You're paying a real premium for the playmat, the coin, the sleeves and the two exclusive promos, not for the cards themselves.
So the honest question isn't whether this is cheap, because it isn't. It's whether the exclusives are worth roughly $85 over what the same 30 packs would cost loose. If you want both promo cards and don't care about the accessories, buying them as singles once they hit the secondary market is very likely the cheaper route, the same conclusion we'd draw about any box built around one or two chase cards.
There's also a track record worth knowing. The Scarlet & Violet 151 Ultra Premium Collection launched at $119.99 and, once retailers sold through, was showing up on marketplaces for over $1,000: roughly ten times MSRP. This one is already trading above retail before its release date, with UK listings running more than double the converted price for the Night box specifically. Neither number is a promise this exact box repeats that, but it's the pattern this line has followed every time it's sold out.
If your plan is to open it, the accessories mostly pay for themselves: 65 sleeves and a deck box aren't nothing, and the playmat isn't sold anywhere else. If your plan is to flip it sealed or chase the promos specifically, know what you're paying $85 over pack price for before you click buy.
