Everything in 30th Celebration.

30th Celebration launches September 16, 2026, and it does something the Pokémon TCG has never done: it comes out everywhere on the same day. No Japanese head start, no waiting four months for the English print.

That single scheduling decision matters more than it sounds, and I'll come back to why near the end. First, the set itself.

What's actually in a pack

Each booster pack holds five foil cards plus one foil Basic Energy. One of those five is always a Pikachu, pulled from 30 unique illustrations by 30 different artists.

So every pack you open has a guaranteed chase slot before you get anywhere near the rare ones. That is a genuinely different opening experience, and it is also why I'd expect the singles market for this set to be strange for a while.

Every card in the set is foil, down to the Basic Energy: which never gets foil treatment in a normal set. The set runs past 150 cards; the Poster Collection depicts over 160, so the final number with secret rares is somewhere north of that.

Two more things worth knowing. There's a Classic Collection of 30 reprinted cards from across the game's history, Base Set Charizard among them. And a brand new rarity, Futuristic Rare, illustrated by the Japanese artist Yoshirotten: we wrote about that one when it was first announced.

All 14 products and when each one lands

The lineup does not arrive at once. It's spread across four dates between September and November, which is the part most preorder pages get wrong.

September 16: the launch wave

Seven products land on day one. This is the wave that decides whether the set feels available or feels like a restock war.

The two Elite Trainer Boxes look close enough that people will get them confused on the secondary market, and some of that confusion will be deliberate. The Pokémon Center edition is the one with the Poké Ball mark; everything else about the outside is the same gold.

The Poster Collection is the sleeper of the launch wave. That poster is effectively the set checklist as a wall object, and the three Kanto birds as foil promos is a strong pull for anyone who collects Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

October 2: the wave that actually matters for opening

If your plan is to open volume rather than collect sealed, this is your date. The Booster Bundle and the Binder Collection are where the packs per dollar sits.

The Mini Tins have a hook I like: collect all ten and the art cards assemble into two bigger pictures, a day scene and a night one. It's the kind of thing that keeps tins out of the clearance bin two years later.

October 30 and November 6: the premium end

Splitting the Ultra Premium Collection into a Day and a Night version is the move that will cost people the most money. Umbreon has a track record of dragging prices up on its own, and anyone completing the pair pays twice.

What "every card is foil" does to the resale end

This is the part I actually care about, because we sell singles out of bulk and this set removes the category that normally sits at the bottom of the box.

In a normal set, a big share of what you pull is non holo commons and uncommons: cards that are real, playable, and worth almost nothing individually. In 30th Celebration that category does not exist.

Here's what that looks like in our own numbers. These are 66 real sales from our eBay store between August 5 and August 24, 2026, grouped by finish:

Thirteen of our fifteen non foil sales went out at the $1.99 minimum. Non foil cards, in our experience, are floor cards: they sell, but they sell at the bottom. Foil is what gives a single room to move.

Two honest caveats, because a number without its limits is just a vibe. That $1.99 is our price floor, so it compresses every average toward it: 44 of the 66 sales landed exactly there. And 66 sales over 20 days is a small sample from one store, not a market study.

What I'd take from it anyway: an all foil set means fewer cards you can't be bothered to list, and a higher floor on the ones you do. It does not mean every card is valuable. When foil is universal, foil stops being the thing that separates a $2 card from a $20 one: the illustration and the rarity do that on their own.

The simultaneous release is the real story for buyers

Back to the release date. Normally a big Japanese set gives importers a window: buy early in Japan, sell into English demand months before the English print lands. We've covered how that plays out with Japan only products.

Here that window doesn't exist. Everyone gets it on September 16. Which means the constraint moves to domestic allocation: how much stock your local shop and the big retailers actually receive on day one, and how fast the restock windows close.

If you're buying to open, my honest advice is to wait for October 2. The Booster Bundle is packs without the accessory tax, launch week prices on a hyped anniversary set are the worst prices you'll see all year, and nothing about this set gets rarer by waiting two weeks.
