Several Rayquaza markets moved at once
PriceCharting described recent increases above 1,000 percent for selected Rayquaza transactions. Separate public records also showed a Japanese Gold Star Rayquaza in BGS Pristine 10 reaching a new high and a PSA 10 Rayquaza C LV.X producing an exceptional sale. These are rare grades with thin supply.
Modern Rayquaza provides more comparisons
Rayquaza VMAX 218 from Evolving Skies has a larger population and a deeper sales history. PriceCharting included it among the most traded modern cards, reporting more than two thousand recorded sales and a strong twelve month increase for PSA 10 copies. Its liquidity makes the price trend easier to test than a one copy record.
Character demand is real, but card identity still wins
Collectors can chase Rayquaza across games, languages and eras. A new set centered on Mega Rayquaza can renew interest in older artwork. Even then, an English Gold Star, a Japanese Gold Star, a modern secret card and a promotional card have different print runs and buyer pools.
How to read the current movement
Use the character as the starting point, then divide by card number, set, language, grade and certification. Look for repeated transactions rather than the largest percentage. A tenfold jump based on two sales can be less informative than a twenty percent rise supported by dozens of sales.
Rayquaza demand is broad in 2026. The evidence for any particular price still lives on the particular card page.

Frequently asked questions
- Are all Rayquaza cards increasing in price?
No. Recent records concern selected cards and grades, not every Rayquaza printing.
- Why is Rayquaza VMAX 218 useful to watch?
It has frequent recorded sales, which gives collectors more comparable transactions.
- Can a new Rayquaza set affect older cards?
It can renew attention, but supply, language, grade and artwork determine how each older card responds.
